About Heather Taylor

Heather is a Death Industry worker and coined “spooky professional”. Originally from Pittsburgh, Heather started her career at a haunted house as a makeup artist.

While in special effects school Heather studied the dead for realistic effects which lead her to mortuary science and her recent degree. Upon graduation, Heather instructed a sculpting & makeup class for facial reconstruction and open casket services at a mortuary school. Now residing in the Pacific Northwest, she spends long days working with an Organ Procurement Organization and continuing her death education.

Creating the handle BeforeTheCoffin in 2020, Heather shares her multifaceted personality with her growing audience across social platforms and other media.

Outside of the morgue, Heather travels to historical locations and out of the ordinary getaways while keeping up to date with current fashion trends. Enjoying life before the coffin.
